The second-seeded Alcantara and Moriya displayed their cohesion to pounce on their fourth-ranked rivals in this $25,000 tournament.

It was the second title for the Filipino-Japanese tandem after clinching the M25 Jakarta doubles crown in Indonesia early this month.

“Always fun to share the court with you Hiroki san,” Alcantara posted on social media.

Alcantara and Moriya only dropped a set throughout the event, opening up with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Thais Credit Chaiyarin and Tanakorn Srirat before outlasting another Thai duo in Kasidit Samrej and Thantub Skusumrarn in the quarterfinals, 7-6 (3), 6-3.

They needed an extra set in surviving Greece’s Markos Kalovelonis and Thailand’s Pruchya Isaro, 6-3, 5-7, 10-6, before edging Jones and Reynolds.

This was Alcantara’s third doubles title this year and second for Moriya.

With the win, Alcantara and Moriya are expected to improve their respective rankings of No. 275 and No. 581, respectively.
