According to Mayor Eric, the disaster response and evacuation center is one of the priority projects of the city government during the term of Rep. Edwin as the city mayor and his term as representative of the first district.
The mayor said the center will serve as the temporary shelter of residents who are victims of fire, flooding during typhoons or any calamities.
Olivarez said six families who were victims of a fire incident on May 31 at Area 2, Sta. Maria were currently staying at the evacuation center.
He said the families staying at the evacuation center were given food relief packs, financial assistance and construction material to start building their homes.
The mayor said his nephew Councilor Pablo “Paolo” Olivarez and wife of Congressman Edwin, Janet Olivarez, joined in the blessing and inauguration of the disaster response and evacuation center.
