P87.2-M worth of illegal drugs seized in Western Visayas in five months; 1,219 drug pushers nabbed

BACOLOD CITY â€“ Illegal drugs worth P87,227,845.13 were confiscated in Western Visayas from Jan. 1 to May 31.

(Glazyl Masculino) This was based on data presented by IA V Christina Cabatingan, chief operations division of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas, during the recent Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) meeting at Negros Residences here. The data showed that the PDEA-Western Visayas and the police seized 12,814.1655 grams of shabu worth P87,136,325.40 and 617.6644 grams of dried marijuana plants and 72 plants during the five-month period. The Western Visayas police conducted 896 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 1,219 drug personalities. A total of 2,188 drug cases have been filed in court.
