CAMP MELCHOR F. DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela – Two infrastructure projects worth P4 million under the Support to Barangay Development Project (SBDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) were completed in Barangay Bural, Zinundungan Valley, Rizal, Cagayan.
Major Rigos Pamittan, spokesperson of the Army 5th Infantry Division, said on Saturday, June 17, that the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) of Rizal formally inaugurated the two projects on June 13.
These projects were a farm-to-market road worth P2.5 million and a health station worth P1.5 million.
“The farm-to-market road will benefit the farmers in the community to gain better prices and expand the reach of their products, which this will stimulate the economy of Barangay Bural and will eventually uplift the economic life of the residents,” said Pamittan.
“The newly constructed health station will serve as a community based health center that will offer first aid assistance to the residents, who have communicable diseases, and other basic health services,” he added.
The health station is a local government financed health center.
Barangay Chairperson Evelyn Baloran thanked the NTF-ELCAC for giving her barangay an opportunity to progress and helping her constituents to live a better and more comfortable life.
Pamittan said Barangay Bural had been a haven of communist rebels along with other barangays in the Zinundungan Valley in the past decades.
Through the Community Support Program (CSP) of the Army 17th Infantry Battalion and Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of government agencies and local government unit of Rizal, Barangay Bural was declared insurgency cleared in 2021.
