Netflix reveals new, returning cast of global hit Korean series ‘Squid Game’ season 2 


Netflix has revealed the new and returning cast of the global hit Korean series “Squid Game,” the video streaming service’s biggest show with 1.65 billion hours viewed in the first 28 days on the platform. 

During the Tudum 2023 global fan event in Brazil, Netflix revealed the final cast lineup for “Squid Game” season 2.

Netflix announced that season 1 stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, and Gong Yoo will be returning for “Squid Game” season 2, which was confirmed in June 2022. 

In addition, four stars will be joining them in season 2. They are Im Siwan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun will play the roles of new contestants. 

Im Siwan’s casting confirmed earlier reports that he would be part of “Squid Game” season 2. He starred in the Netflix film “Unlocked,” which was released early this year. 

Park Ha-neul starred in the drama “When the Camellia Blooms” and the film “Midnight Runners.”

Park Sung-hoon appeared in the hit Netflix series “The Glory” while Yang Dong-geun appeared in the Netflix film “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations.”

“Squid Game” season 2 will start filming in the second half of 2023.
