Magnitude-5.5 quake jolts Cagayan

In its latest bulletin, Phivolcs reported that the earthquake's epicenter was traced at 15 kilometers northwest of Dalupiri Island, Calayan, Cagayan, at 6:15 p.m. With its depth of focus of 3 km, the earthquake's origin was tectonic – a sudden movement of the earth's crust. It recorded the quake at Intensity V Calayan, Cagayan; Intensity IV in Bangui, Burgos, Pagudpud, and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte; Intensity III in Bacarra, City of Laoag, and Sarrat, Ilocos Norte; Aparri, and Claveria, Cagayan; Intensity II in Flora, Luna, and Santa Marcela, Apayao; Badoc, City of Batac, Pinili, and San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte; Cabugao, San Juan, and Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Abulug, Baggao, Ballesteros, Lasam, Rizal, and Tuao, Cagayan; and Intensity I in Magsingal, and City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur; Cabagan, and Delfin Albano, Isabela.
