The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Davao Occidental on Saturday, June 17.

The earthquake occurred at 4:52 a.m., 357 kilometers southeast of Balut Island, Municipality of Sarangani, Davao Occidental. Phivolcs stated that the tremor has a 1 km depth of focus due to “tectonic” which is the sudden movement of the earth’s crust. Meanwhile, Phivolcs said there are no expected damages and aftershocks. *(Sonny Daanoy)*
