The country will likely experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advised on Saturday morning, June 17.
The state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon, that might last from 30 minutes to two hours.
ITCZ is a weather system that occurs when winds from the northern and southern hemispheres converge.
Meanwhile, the rest of the archipelago is also seen to experience light to moderate wind speeds coming from the southeast to the south.
The coastal water condition will be slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters), said PAGASA.
