Consistent V33wise marches to 11th finals appearance with Blacklist International

The success of the dynamic duo of Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario may have been overshadowed by the series of finals heartbreaks for Blacklist International but there’s no denying the fact the two remained the biggest reason why the team still relevant up to this day.

And the 2023 edition of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup became just another reminder on how consistent the two had been ever since donning the Blacklist jersey. Following a commanding 3-1 victory over Burn X Flash, Blacklist booked a return trip to the finals – an 11th finals appearance for the team in the last 12 tournaments where V33wise played. The heart and soul of the Codebreakers, the duo was a picture of consistency being in the finals in the MPL Philippines Season 7, MSC 2021, MPL Invitational 2021, MPL PH S8, and M3 World Championship. The two took a rest in Season 9 but they still went on to reach the finals of the 2021 Southeast Asian Games and the IESF World Championships. The streak ended when Blacklist failed to advance to the finals in MPLI 2022 but the two made a winning comeback in the MPL PH S10. V33wise steered Blacklist back to the Finals in the M4 Worlds and MPL S12 to qualify to the MSC. Despite the dominant run for the two, they both admitted that their success somehow comes with a prize. “Nakakapagod,” said OhmyV33nus. “Nakakapagod kasi manalo or matalo may masasabi at masasabi rin,” echoed Wise. Achieving such an incredible feat still makes Wise happy, especially knowing full well how hard to reach the finals of every tournament. “Masaya pa rin na nakakarating kami ng grand finals kasi lahat naman ng pro player yun yung pangarap e, yung makatungtong ng grand finals and mag-champion,” said Wise. “Maganda siya tignan kasi kung iisipin, parang lagi kaming nasa grand finals so yung tingin samin ng tao consistent talaga kami ever since na pumasok kami sa liga and may talent talaga,” he added.
