Blacklist International shrugs off pesky Burn X Flash to book MSC Finals return
Blacklist International shrugged off a tough stand from hometown bets Burn X Flash with a 3-1 victory to book a return trip to the grand finals of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup at the Aeon Mall MeanChey in Phnom Penh on Saturday, June 17.
After a tight first two games that went both ways, the Codebreakers displayed poise and came through with stellar showing in Games 3 and 4 to clinch the team’s second finals appearance in the tournament or since it first achieved it in the 2021 edition. Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo stepped up big time for the MPL Philippines Season 11 runners-up setting up the tone in the pivotal Game 3 with an impressive 8-0-5 KDA on the Valentina pick. He also joined hands with Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna who flexed her roaming Novaria pick with a 0-2-13 line as Blacklist bounced back from a Game 2 defeat with a 17-7 victory that also allowed them to seize control of the series. Blacklist showed no letup in the series-clincher as it went on to dominate the Burn X Flash with a 10-1 triumph to formalize its entry to the finale. Yue was once again in the middle of the assault, finishing with a 4-1-4 line on the Kagura. The impressive two-game performance preserved an earlier stellar base defense of Yue and OhmyV33nus against four Burn X Flash players that allowed them to draw first blood in the contest with a come-from-behind 18-12 win. Brun X Flash though refused to go down without a fight as Filipino import Mariusz “Donut” Tan carried the fight for the hometown bets with an impressive 11-2-3 line in the 16-9 Game 2 win.
