CEBU CITY — Three persons, including two brothers, were arrested in a buy-bust operation in a suspected drug den here on Friday afternoon, June 16.
THREE persons were arrested during a buy-bust operation in a suspected drug den in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City on Friday afternoon, June 16. (PDEA-7) Arrested were Adriano Lopez, 48; Jimmel Lopez, 43, and Mark Anthony Cordova, 30. According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas, the drug den was run by Jimmel with his younger brother serving as his right hand man. PDEA-7 agents and personnel of Cebu City Police Office Station 10 arrested Cordova, a "habal-habal" (motorcycle taxi) driver, who was caught visiting the drug den during the operation. Alcantara said a poseur-buyer transacted with Jimmel, whose alleged illegal drug activities were reported to the PDEA-7. “The suspect was reported to be one of the newly identified drug personalities in the area,” said Alcantara. The suspect was capable of selling 50 grams of shabu a week, said Alcantara. Seized during the operation were four packs of suspected shabu worth P149,600.
