Woman shot dead in Tondo; 2 men hit by stray bullets

A woman was killed while two others were wounded in a shooting incident in Isla Puting Bato,Tondo, Manila on Saturday, June 17. The Manila Police District Delpan Station identified the slain victim as Marian Escanilla, 39, a resident of Barangay 275, Binondo, Manila. Wounded were Ariel Layam, 43, and Jojo Aberte, 46, both residents of Isla Puting Bato, Barangay 20, Tondo. According to the initial report of Delpan Police Station, witnesses saw Escanilla talking to a man wearing a hoodie black jacket and maong pants around 9:45 a.m. in Barangay 20, Isla Puting Bato, Tondo. The witnesses said they suddenly heard three consecutive gunshots and afterward found the victim already dead in an alley. The two other victims were reportedly hit by stray bullets and are currently undergoing treatment at Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center. Authorities said the suspect is still at large.
