ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 has urged residents in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental to cooperate with authorities to quickly solve the murder of a family on Wednesday, June 14.
“The quest for justice is always a shared responsibility between the police and the community. We ask the good people of Himamaylan City to cooperate with our local police in the conduct of the investigation into these brutal killings,” said PRO-6 in a statement on Friday, June 16.
Rolly Fausto, 52; his 49-year-old wife, and their two sons were murdered by unknown assailants in far-flung Sitio Kangkiling, Barangay Buenavista.
The Philippine Army and the police have dismissed claims by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (NPA) that government forces were behind the gruesome death of the Fausto family.
“We strongly condemn the senseless acts of violence and terrorism against innocent civilians,” the PRO-6 said.
“PRO-6 vows to bring the terrorists to justice and will utilize all its resources to effectively neutralize any and all threats to the safety, security, and welfare of the people of Himamaylan City and the rest of Western Visayas.”
