PBBM: PH will continue to strengthen ties with China

Marcos said this during the ceremonial turnover of China's donation of 20,000 metric tons of urea fertilizer to the Philippines in Valenzuela City on Friday morning, June 16. In his speech, the President noted that China's donation would tremendously aid his administration's efforts to boost agricultural production. He likewise revealed that China donated P4 million worth of rice as relief goods for those affected by Mayon Volcano's continued unrest. According to Marcos, these gestures of China solidify the friendship and goodwill between the neighboring countries, and the Philippines must reciprocate them. "These generous acts symbolize the value of the relationship between our two countries," he said. "We must continue to nurture; we must continue to care for that through acts of mutual assistance and constant and amicable dialog," he added.

With this, the Chief Executive said the Philippines would strive to boost its relationship with China. "I assure the Chinese government that the Philippines will always work for the strengthening of our ties and the advancement of our mutual interests, and they are many," he said. "As we walk to the next half-century of our diplomatic ties, let this day be a celebration of many things for us," he added.
