Pacquiao sets up Junior MPBL

Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao led the launching of the Junior Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on Thursday, June 15, which will serve as an avenue for young dribblers to showcase and hone their skills.

The former eight-division world champion said that the purpose of the league is to give aspiring basketball players the opportunity to harness their potential and be a professional someday.

Junior MPBL will be composed of under-18, under-16 and under-14 divisions for the 17 teams from Metro Manila and CALABARZON that have already committed to join the tournament.

The boxer-turned-politician also shared his idea to create a new volleyball tourney and will be called the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball league which will only cater female players.
