One game at a time for Blacklist as it closes in on elusive MSC title
Even after a series of dominant performances in the group stage and the quarterfinals of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup, Blacklist International is not thinking too far ahead – more so being content with what it has shown so far in the regional tiff.
Head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani stressed that the team is eyeing to constantly improve as the competition goes on in hopes of avoiding the same fate the team suffered during the M4 World Championships and MPL Philippines Season 11. “I think that’s still the goal of our team. It's to improve even more, especially after what happened in M4 and Season 11,” said Master the Basic following Blacklist’s 3-0 sweep of Turkey’s Fire Flux Impunity. “Our goal is to improve and that’s what we are trying to showcase in this MSC knockout stage,” he added. The Codebreakers were laser focused on the task of bringing home what could be their first MSC title that the M3 world champions don’t really mind the change of the format in the playoffs from the usual double-elimination to the single elimination bracket. As cliche as it gets but Master the Basics shared that the team is taking it one game at a time. “I think yung ginagawa kasi namin ngayon. Naka one-step at a time kami, kung matalo tayo ng first game, move on tayo. Kung manalo tayo ng first game, move on tayo,” he furthered. “Kaya di malaking factor yung laglag agad after matalo kasi one game at a time talaga kami,” he added. Blacklist, although coming in as a heavy favorite against Burn X Flash from the host country, remained wary in their semifinals collision especially with the expected hostile crowd in the venue. “Cambodian team yung susunod nating kalaban so expect natin na yung crowd talaga is pwedeng makaapekto pero yun yung magiging mindset namin, dapat kahit ganun, magawa pa rin namin yung best performance namin,” said MTB.
