All three parties agreed to develop and support any efforts and initiatives on public information and education campaigns aimed at increasing general knowledge and awareness of climate change. This includes the publication of infomercials in movie theaters/cinemas and other social media applications, as well as any additional relevant information to empower the general public, particularly highly vulnerable communities, to adapt to climate change. MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto-Antonio, in a statement, said although the offices have different mandates, they all have a joint obligation to protect and construct a "sustainable future" for the people of the Philippines and the generations to come. “Films and television shows are no longer seen as just forms of amusement for Filipinos; rather, they serve as an excellent medium for teaching," Sotto said. "Through this collaboration, we will launch activities to raise climate change awareness and education among all Filipinos,” she added. Both CCC Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz and KSMBPI Chairman Michael Aragon highlighted the strength and importance of conventional media, such as films and television shows, and the pervasive influence of digital media in bringing about good change. “We, at the MTRCB, recognize the important roles that mass media, especially film and social media, play in promoting awareness and education on climate change and environmental challenges,” Racquel Cruz, a member of the MTRCB Board and chair of the Committee on Climate Change said. “Rest assured that we at the Board will do our share to ensure that this cooperation will be guaranteed success through our collaborative efforts, nagbabago na ang panahon kaya panahon na para magbago. (Times are changing, so it’s time to change),” she added. *(Rhowen Del Rosario)*
