Jealous man stabs live-in partner's Angkas driver to death
CAVITE – Authorities arrested a man for stabbing a motorcycle ride-hailing driver to death in Dasmariñas City on Wednesday, June 14.
The reason: the suspect allegedly got jealous when his live-in partner rode at the back of the victim’s motorcycle.
The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the suspect as Crisanto A. Calagos Jr.
Initial investigation showed Calagos engaged in a heated argument with the victim, Mark Anthony A. Domingo, after learning that his partner shared a ride with the latter.
“'Nung nakita, natanong po, na ‘Paano ka nakauwi?’ Eh napaka-seloso po pala nitong lalaki. ‘Nung nakita po doon, kinumpronta ‘yung Angkas, eh wala namang kaalam-alam 'yung Angkas driver (When he saw his partner, he asked 'How did you get home?’ The suspect was very jealous. When he saw the victim, he confronted him. The Angkas driver was oblivious),” Dasmariñas City Police Station (CPS) chief Lt. Col. Juan P. Oruga Jr. told the Manila Bulletin in a phone interview.
The victim died on the spot during the incident, while the suspect fled.
Upon receiving the report, Dasmariñas CPS immediately conducted a follow-up operation, resulting in the arrest of the suspect in Barangay Sabang.
Calagos is now under the custody of Dasmariñas CPS and is facing a murder charge.
