Jeck Conlu, chief of the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PTSMO), recommended on Friday, June 16, the 15-day suspension of traffic enforcer Dominador Regala. In a letter to Mayor Jerry Treñas, Conlu said that Regala “acknowledged his mistake and promised not to repeat the same act again.” A viral video surfaced on Facebook showing Regala in a verbal altercation with a taxi driver on Delgado St. During the heated argument, Regala verbally threatened to kill the taxi driver. Aside from the 15-day suspension, Conlu also recommended that Regala undergo a mandatory retraining for traffic enforcers and pass the evaluation phase for traffic enforcers before he can go back to work. “We further recommend that could only commence duty after he complied with three recommended interventions,” added Conlu. This incident came days after another traffic enforcer was caught on video receiving money from a driver of a private vehicle.
