There were 12,075 permits processed in 2021, 11,952 in 2020, and 12,214 in 2019. The number of business registrations is still expected to increase as the year ends, according to City Licensing Officer Benjie Barredo. The continuous increase in the number of business permit registration was noted after the implementation of the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS), a streamlined process of business permit registration and renewal launched by the Zamboanga City government in 2017. BOSS has generated P497.95 million from business taxes, garbage fees, regulatory fees, and other charges.
