Work life balance policy is good for business – TransUnion
TransUnion, a global information and insights company, said implementing a work-life balance in company operation is good for business.
TransUnion president and CEO Pia Arellano said that by promoting work-life balance alongside a commitment to the principle of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) has enabled TransUnion Philippines to continue bringing an equitable organization.
“TransUnion Philippines continues to bring together a wide range of voices to collaborate in creating a truly equitable organization that sees how each person is vital to our success,” Arellano said.
Arellano also pointed out how family needs and dynamics can change at different stages of life by promoting work-life balance.
With that, TransUnion Philippines will be implementing paid caregiving leave for all permanent associates.
Alongside with its hybrid working setup, she said the company policies are helping promote a family-friendly culture that enables its employees to enjoy a better balance between work and family life.
“By understanding who people are and what their situations in life are like, it becomes possible to create opportunities to unlock how they can live better lives,” she said.
Its hybrid working setup, which continues to this day, gives employees the flexibility to work either from home or from the company’s expanded office.
By understanding who employees are and what they need, Arellano said, it becomes possible for organizations to create work environments that maximize their strengths.
Arellano cited how COVID-19 reshaped realigning priorities for her colleagues. TransUnion Philippines quickly instituted these policies noting that nurturing relationships with family and loved ones become an important need given the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic.
Aside from work-life balance, Arellano said that TransUnion is committed to DEI because of the benefits it brings to the workplace.
“At TransUnion, diversity makes us stronger. With empowerment so closely tied to our business, we continue to create a work environment where everyone can bring their most authentic selves to work and use their experiences, identities, and knowledge to achieve more success together,” she said.
“Our workplace dynamics nurture diversity. With many women and LGBTQ+ in leadership and associate roles, seeing the possibilities of diversity and inclusion at hand can go a long way in inspiring more people to pursue the path of leadership in the workplace,” she concluded.
