CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A butcher and a rider died in separate accidents along the roads in La Union in the early hours of Thursday, June 15.
Police identified the first victim as Edgar Lloveras Estigoy, 63, a butcher and a resident of Barangay San Felipe, San Juan, La Union.
Investigation disclosed that the accident occurred at about 2:40 a.m. Thursday.
The victim was driving his tricycle (PN: 927 ANB) on the way to the west direction along the Bacnotan-San Gabriel Provincial Road in Barangay Zaragosa, Bacnotan town when he lost control.
His tricycle accidentally bumped into a mahogany tree beside the road.
The responding authorities brought the severely injured victim to the Bacnotan District Hospital but he died upon reaching it.
Earlier, one Enrique Estacio Colobong Jr., 28, a resident of Barangay Tococ, Santo Tomas, La Union, died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a bus along the national highway in Barangay Guinabang, Bacnotan, La Union.
The victim died upon reaching the Bacnotan District Hospital due to serious body injuries.
Police said the collision occurred as the victim reportedly occupied the lane of the southbound Partas bus.
