P1.8-M illegal drugs confiscated, three drug pushers arrested in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – A total of P1,888,840 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated, while three drug personalities were arrested, in three anti-illegal drug operations in Cordillera region on June 14.

Based on the reports submitted to Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo, Jr., director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, the arrested drug suspects were identified as Beljimar Nabus, 24; Erryl Diane Angway, 27, and Jeffrey dela Peña, 30.

Dela Peña was arrested in Barangay Lourdes Proper, Baguio City by joint operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) and Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) after he sold one gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800.

Nabus and Angway were arrested in Barangay Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet during a buy-bust operation launched by the operatives of the Benguet Provincial Police Office. The raiding teams found .3 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,400 from the two suspects.

Meanwhile, Kalinga Provincial Police Office personnel who conducted marijuana eradication in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga, discovered a total of 9,400 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants (FGMP) with a standard price of P1,880,000.

All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned while an investigation continues to identify the possible cultivators.
