Intensity II earthquake felt in Muntinlupa

The 6.2-magnitude earthquake that hit Calatagan, Batangas at 10:19 a.m. on June 15 was felt in Muntinlupa.  According to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, the earthquake registered an intensity 2 in the city.  The Philippine Earthquake Intensity Meter Network (right) showing intensity II earthquake in Muntinlupa (Photos from Google Maps, Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management)
The Philippine Earthquake Intensity Meter Network installed in Muntinlupa recorded intensity II.   Based on the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS), intensity II means that the earthquake is “slightly felt.” “Felt by few individuals at rest indoors. Hanging objects swing slightly. Still Water in containers oscillates noticeably,” according to the definition by Phivolcs.  According to Phivolcs, the earthquake was felt in the following areas: Reported Intensities: Intensity IV - City of Manila; City Mandaluyong; Quezon City; City of  Valenzuela; City of Malolos, Bulacan; Batangas City, Ibaan, Lemery, Nasugbu, and Talisay, Batangas; City of Dasmariñas, and City of Tagaytay, Cavite; Tanay, Rizal Intensity III - Pateros; City of Las Pinas; City of Makati; City fo Marikina;  Paranaque City; Pasig City;  Obando, Bulacan; Laurel, Batangas; City of Bacoor, and City of Imus, Cavite; City of San Pablo, and City of San Pedro, Laguna; San Mateo, Rizal Intensity II - City of Caloocan; City of San Juan, City of Muntinlupa; City of San Fernando, La Union; City of Alaminos, and Bolinao, Pangasinan; Santa Maria, Bulacan; Bamban, Tarlac  Intensity I - City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan
