Intensity II earthquake felt in Muntinlupa 


The 6.2-magnitude earthquake that hit Calatagan, Batangas at 10:19 a.m. on June 15 was felt in Muntinlupa. 

According to the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management, the earthquake registered an intensity 2 in the city.

The Philippine Earthquake Intensity Meter Network installed in Muntinlupa recorded intensity II.  

Based on the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS), intensity II means that the earthquake is “slightly felt.”

“Felt by few individuals at rest indoors. Hanging objects swing slightly. Still Water in containers oscillates noticeably,” according to the definition by Phivolcs.
