Hot mama Geneva Cruz admits that she's ready to do battle in case the country engages in a war with a foreign power. It goes with her job as a reservist for the Philippine Air Force (PAF). More than this, the sultry singer and actress ticked off the countless benefits the military training gave her, especially with being a "stronger person, inside and out."

"At 47, I have become this strong woman. Hindi yung strong lang sa loob, kundi pati sa labas na rin," she pointed out. "I started weight training so now, I lift weights. I do taekwondo on the side. I became very active, so it's not just dancing. I run. I also do marathons."

Enduring OPM artists perform in 'AXEL PAF' - a concert celebrating the 76th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force in The Theatre at Solaire

"I will be facing my fellow reservists and Air Force officers without my uniform for the first time. It will be an honor to sing and dance in front of them and their families, " said "Sergeant" Geneva.

Geneva credits her former Smokey Mountain bandmate Tony Lambino - presently an official of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas -  for " recruiting" her as a PAF reservist. It started  when she saw him posing with a gun on Facebook. " Sabi ko, 'Ikaw ba yan Tony?  Bakit bumabaril-baril ka na eh nung nasa Smokey Mountain tayo napaka-preppy mo?' "

Tony oriented her about the PAF reservists program and Geneva found herself enlisting for training in no time. It was an intensive four-month course where the singer-actress learned rappelling, air marshaling, bomb disposal, and other duties. She also " climbed three mountains" and swam in a river filled with carabao dung.

"I did this because I'm really proud to be a Filipino," Geneva stressed. "I had the chance to be an American citizen but I didn't do it. Well, I am a green card holder because of my children who are citizens but have found my purpose in being an Air Force reservist. I come from Tondo, Manila, and seeing the poverty, my purpose has always been to help other people," Geneva declared.

The line-up of celebrity reservists in the country's military includes Christopher De Leon, Vilma Santos. Dingdong Dantes, Matteo Guidicelli ,  Arci Muñoz,  Beauty Gonzalez,  Winwyn Marquez, and Baron Geisler, among others.
