48 couples tie the knot in mass Church wedding in Tacloban
TACLOBAN CITY – Forty-eight couples tied the knot in a mass wedding dubbed Kasalang Pulis sa Rehiyon Otso here on Wednesday, June 14.
The couples comprised of policemen and non-uniformed personnel were married at Santo Niño Shrine in support of promoting the value of family and marriage among uniformed personnel.
They have been living together as families and have yet to receive the consecrated ceremony of marriage.
The mass wedding is also part of the Police Regional Office-8's commitment to maintaining the spirituality, morale, and welfare of its personnel as part of human-rights-based policing in adherence to the core values of the Philippine National Police.
Archbishop John Du, who led the ceremony, emphasized that the sacrament of marriage is a forever commitment with God as the center of their relationships.
“May your marital life be grounded in prayers and communion with God, and always remind each other to pray for awareness and consciousness of His presence in your relationship,” he told the couples.
