SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte – At least 102 job applicants were hired on the spot (HOTS) during the 125th Independence Day job fair held at Robinsons Place here on Monday, June 12.

Manotoc (FB) The HOTS job applicants were part of the 495 job seekers, who had the opportunity to interact with hiring managers, submitted their resumes, and participated in on-the-spot interviews. According to the Communications and Media Office (CMO) of the Ilocos Norte Capitol, more than 2,000 job vacancies were offered at the Independence Day job fair in Ilocos Norte. The job fair was conducted by the provincial government of Ilocos Norte, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and the Department of Labor and Employment. Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc said that in time for the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood, the said job fair served as a platform for job seekers to engage with industry professionals, present their skills and qualifications, and explore a wide range of employment opportunities. With 51 companies in attendance, the event catered to diverse fields such as government agencies, private companies, healthcare facilities, and manpower agencies. “We are working day and night para maging business-friendly talaga ang Ilocos Norte. Wala na pong mas importante kung hindi ang pag-create ng mga trabaho at hanapbuhay dito sa ating probinsiya. Kaya to everyone who contributed to this successful job fair, gusto ko lang pong magpasalamat (We are working day and night to make Ilocos Norte really business-friendly. None is more important than creating jobs and livelihood in our province. So, to everyone who contributed to this successful job fair, I just would like to thank them),” Gov. Manotoc said. He said that the success of the “Independence Day Job Fair 2023” is a testament to the collaborative efforts of partner companies, dedicated job seekers, and the support of the local community. The event showcased the province’s active job market, highlighting the diverse industries and the abundance of talent in the region. Under the leadership of Gov. Manotoc, the provincial government has been relentlessly pursuing stronger initiatives to generate more employment opportunities in the province.
