Pasay Mayor Emi visits Indonesia for possible 'sister city' partnership
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano announced the possible "sister cities" partnership between Pasay and Tangerang, Indonesia during her visit in the country.

Rubiano said she visited Indonesia upon the invitation of Philippine Indonesian Ambasador Agu Widjojo and Philippine Business Club Indonesia Secretary General Norwin Mark Castro. Aside from the possible "sister city" partnership with Tangerang, Indonesia, the officials also discussed ways to strengthen their respective economies and support the micro, small and medium enterprises sector. The mayor added that selling and using halal products (referring to the food and products that are permissible or acceptable in accordance with Islamic law) in the city were also discussed. Rubiano said that she is hopeful that her visit to Indonesia will give more job opportunities to residents with the opening of more businesses in the city, which will also help in the programs and projects of the city government for Pasayenos. Among the other prominent individuals that the mayor met during her visit were Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan; Philanthropist and Billionaire Dato Sri Tahir and Bapak Bara Krishna Hasibuan, presidents of state-owned enterprise of PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PTPPI); Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko of TVOne PT Bakrie Telecoms, PT Bumi Resources Tbk; and Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia Yasonna H Laoly.
