3 men nabbed; P22,400 shabu, firearm seized in Pasay buy-bust

Three drug suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) on Monday, June 12. Col Froilan Uy, city police chief, identified the suspects as Manuel Catubato, Jr. 38, alias “Pango”; Jenob Altarez, 36, and Jomel Bon, 27, construction worker, all residents of Pasay City and listed as street level individuals (SLI). The suspects were arrested at around 2:00 p.m. on Iris Street in Barangay 184, Zone 19, Pasay City. However, the primary target of the buy-bust operation, identified as Jefferson Copada alias “Bay”, was able to elude arrest. The city police chief said members of the SDEU conducted the buy-bust operation after a concerned citizen informed the police of the presence of the suspects at the house of Copada. Police confiscated 3.3 grams of shabu amounting to P22,440; P1,000 cash used as buy-bust money; a .45-caliber pistol loaded with three pieces of live ammunition; a black gun box, and a black coin purse. He said the suspects were detained at the police custodial facility and were charged with illegal possession of drugs and firearms.
