2 students die in motorcycle crash in Southern Leyte


TACLOBAN CITY – A second year college student and a Grade 9 student died in a motorcycle crash on the Maharlika Highway in San Francisco, Southern Leyte, on Tuesday, June 13.

The victims were identified as Rodulfo Albarico, 22, and Noel Madera, residents of Barangay Tinaan, San Francisco.

Reports disclosed that Albarico, believed to be under the influence of liquor, was driving at a high speed and upon reaching a sharp curve, he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a concrete post on the roadside railings.

He was taken to the Liloan Community Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending physician.

Madera, the backrider, was taken to the Christ the Healer Hospital in Sogod, Southern Leyte but was later pronounced dead.
