LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Sixteen members of the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (SAF) deployed for the Mayon Volcano response were injured in a road accident in Albay province on Wednesday morning, June 14.

Malu Calubaquib said that the victims were on their way to Camp Ola here from Juban, Sorsogon when their Gazelle truck figured in the accident while traversing the downhill portion of Barangay Pinaric in Legazpi City. She said that their vehicle turned upside down after it ramped the hillside portion of the road after the driver, Patrolman Jomari A. Samsom, 30, a resident of Balingcanaway, Tarlac City, avoided a pedestrian. Victims were brought to the Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) here.
