Thai star Win Metawin captivates Pinoys at 1st solo fan meeting in Manila 

Wants to work with BLACKPINK's Jennie, Anne Curtis


Thai star Win Metawin had a great time and won the hearts of Filipino fans as he spent one day with them in Manila. 

The 24-year-old actor rose to international fame through the 2020 Thai series “2gether: The Series.”

On June 11, Win (วิน) held his 1st Solo Fan Meeting in Manila at the New Frontier Theater, which marked his return to the Philippines. He was in the country last November together with the other cast members of “F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers.”

At the fan meeting, he sang, answered personal questions, made food and read messages from his fans. 

He opened the event by performing “One More Chance,” which he recorded and released last year. 

Win said he was glad “to be back here again. I missed you guys. Did you miss me more? I missed you guys more.”

In the segment “Win’s Slambook,” he answered questions about his private life. 

When he was asked his favorite breakfast, Win revealed that he does not have breakfast because of intermittent fasting. 

“To be honest, I really don’t take breakfast. I skip breakfast and I start my meal at lunch,” he said. But when he is not fasting, he said he likes to eat kra pao, a Thai dish made of basil, rice, meat and spices. 

Win also revealed that he loves to have coffee before going to work. 

“I have to drink coffee before I go to work. Like two cups of (iced) Americano,” he said. 

Before sleeping, he said he takes a shower, have his skin care routine. He normally sleeps for seven to eight hours, he added. Win has three dogs: Bentley, Charlotte and Cartier 

In the “Win’s Self Cooking” segment, Win prepared three sandwiches for the fans, which he fondly named  “My Love,” “Baby Vegan” and “My Girlfriend.”

Career

Win also talked about his career. He has starred in many TV series and a film titled “2gether: The Movie.” 

Among his roles, Win said the most memorable acting project he had is “2gether: The Series,” his first ever series. 

“Because it was my first series, very, very first series of my life. I got the chance to meet you guys out here,” he said. 

Among the characters he played, he said Tine Teepakorn Aekaranwong in “2gether: The Series” and Kavin Taemiyaklin Kittiyangkul in “F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers” are the ones he liked the most. 

Win was asked celebrities he wanted to work with if he was given the chance to have an international project. 

Fans shouted BLACKPINK’s Jennie to which he said, “It’s one of my dreams.” He also said he wanted to work with Filipino celebrities such as Anne Curtis, whom he met in New York during a Tiffany event. 

“Actually, I wanna work with Filipino celebrities as well. I met Anne Curtis in New York and she is so nice. I wish if I had the chance one day,” he said.

Win is also thankful that he was included in Forbes’s 30 Under 30 Asia list of the “300 young entrepreneurs, leaders and trailblazers across the Asia-Pacific region, all under the age of 30, who are effecting positive change and driving innovation amid global economic uncertainty and a challenging environment.”

“It’s so much honor. At first when I saw that on Twitter, I thought it was fake. So thankful,” he said. 

The Forbes list also includes K-pop girl group NewJeans, Korean actresses Lee Yoo-mi of “All of Us Are Dead” and Kim Hye-yoon of “Snowdrop.” 

In the future, he wants to try to play the role of a psycho, which, he said, will be “pretty challenging for me if I had the chance to do that.” 

Fans

The most memorable thing that a fan did to him, he said, was when they went to his graduation in Thailand. 

“I saw foreigners coming to my graduation. Thank you so much,” he said. 

Fans also wrote messages for Win, which he read during the event.

Some of these include “Thank you for coming,” “I always love your smiling face. We will always support you,” “I am happy and excited to see you in person. Never give and always keep fighting,” “Congratulations on your success,” and “Please come back with Bright [Vachirawit].” 

Win also performed “Pretend,” “That Person Must Be You,” and “Kan Goo.” 

A video was shown during the event containing messages from fans. 

“You made an impact to all of us, making the impossible ‘Winpossible,’” according to the video. 

Win also announced that his new TV series, “Enigma,” which will be “finally launching very, very soon.”

In his parting message, Win said, “I wanna say, I love you guys. I’m always happy to be back here. Thank you for coming tonight. Thank you for having a good time with me tonight. I really hope like one day I’ll have the chance to come back again.”
