From infrastructure to agriculture, education, health and tourism, the achievements that resulted in the continuing progress of Tanay were presented to the people during the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the country's independence.. Speaking before the residents, business and academic communities and other stakeholders, Mayor Rafael “Lito” Tanjuatco and Vice Mayor Rex Manuel Tanjuatco both underscored their administration’s accomplishments that are now being enjoyed by the people of Tanay. Mayor Tanjuatco said two bridges, the Wawa and Austria Bridge, respectively, have both eased traffic flow along the major streets in the town following its widening and improvement. On health, the town now has a dialysis center and the Rizal Provincial Hospital located at the National Government Complex, which were constructed through local funds with the assistance of the Department of Health and the Rizal Provincial Government. New school buildings -- the  Tanay North Tanay East and  Tanay West -- have been constructed, and the Tanay South will be built soon, according to the mayor. On the gains in agriculture, more farm-to-market roads, including those within the Kaliwa Watershed, have been helping the farmers, including the indigenous communities, in transporting the agriculture products to the local market. Irrigation canals are also being constructed as part of the agriculture programs.. The productions of cacao and mango, through the farmers association, have also produced positive results as  the town is starting to be recognized in the industry. Mango production has put the town on top in the entire Region 4-A ,according to Mayor Tanjuatco.. The mayor also bared the benefits of the booming tourism industry with the sprouting of camping sites, restaurants and coffee shops, and accommodation facilities. Street lights in far-flung areas in the upland communities have been constructed to light up most of the remote villages in the town. Among the future projects of the municipality are the continuing electrification of some remote villages, the construction of the public market in Barangay Sampaloc, among others. Both local officials also underscored the importance of being united in achieving their goals for the town. A wreath-laying ceremony was also held during the event at the municipal grounds.
