Earlier today Ubisoft has finally shown gameplay footage of their upcoming open world Star Wars: Outlaws game. And so far, it looks really darn good. Watch it [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymcpwq1ltQc&ab_channel=Ubisoft). An open world Star Wars game sounds like the biggest dream of every Star Wars fans out there. Even though you don't get to play as a Jedi (EA's got you pretty much covered anyway), and instead, take up the blaster as a smuggler -- for all the Han Solo fans out there. The gameplay footage shows protagonist, Kay Vess, sneaking around a compound to acquire, something. Please, Ubisoft, let's keep the stealth mechanics in another certain game. This is the first big Star Wars game you can roam around in a large map. Stealth is the last thing in my mind. It's blasters blast'n. In any case, it seems stealth will still be an integral part of the game, as Kay's pet companion, Nix, can be assigned to attack enemies or send off to press buttons to distract enemies. The footage later shows a full-on shoot and cover mechanic, then moves on to a quick speeder chase, before taking off to space where you pilot your ship where you can pretend to be part of the Rebel Alliance and shoot down TIE fighters. At this point, it's still hard to determine how much open world Star Wars: Outlaws are. The most obvious is multiple planets with large maps with some in-between space stuff. There doesn't seem to be any RPG mechanics, like leveling up or learning new skills, which is great! Because such things in an open world action game can actually hamper exploration and enjoyment. I'm still holding my breathe. It is from Ubisoft, after all, and I continue to scowl every time I remember their announcements and gameplay footage in the past, such as The Division, the first Watch Dogs, and the first Assassin's Creed. Still, their games have proven to be fun.
