Adm. Artemio Abu, PCG Commandant, led the graduation of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 95-2022 “Mandilaab” at the PCG Regional Training Center in Taguig City last June 9.

The class is composed of 376 male trainees.

In his speech, Abu lauded the trainees for overcoming the challenges during their training, noting that it was a testament to their physical and mental strength, patience, and determination.

Abu also encouraged the new PCG personnel to remember the abbreviation RADIATES which represents “the virtues and traits that every coast guardian should possess.”

RADIATES stands for the terms “responsible, accountability, discipline, inspiring, ability, team-spirited, excellence, and servant-leadership”, reflecting Abu’s reminder for every coast guardian to "pursue professional excellence, have a commitment to public service, and be an inspiration to others."

The PCG is eyeing to have a 30,000-strong force by the end of 2023. It currently has more than 26,000 personnel.
