House Minority Leader and 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino Libanan has joined the chorus of tributes for the late former senator Rodolfo Biazon, whom he described as “a true Filipino patriot who passionately loved his country and boldly fought for it". “The Philippines has lost a true patriot and a humble servant in Senator Biazon,” Libanan said in a statement Tuesday, June 13. “Senator Biazon was always ready to bravely support and defend our freedoms and rights as a nation,” said the House leader. Biazon passed away at the age of 88 on Monday, June 12, Independence Day, following a bout with lung cancer. "While our hearts are heavy with sadness, we are grateful for Senator Biazon’s years of devoted service to country,” Libanan said. The veteran solon said he was thankful for having had the privilege to work closely with Biazon on national defense issues in the 11th and 12th Congress. Libanan previously served as representative of Eastern Samar province’s lone congressional district before he was elected 4Ps party-list representative.
