The Duke standout made clear her intention to don the tri-colors as she is expected to join the squad for the FIBA Asia Cup set from June 26 to July 2 in Sydney, Australia.

"Two of the most important things in my life are family and basketball. And since I was a kid I understood this, growing up my family has been a huge part of who I am. I'm super close with my family," de Jesus said.

"Having an opportunity to represent both on a national level, all I'm just excited about. I'm looking forward to going as a leader and as a player, competing on the global stage." added the 21-year-old guard.

De Jesus started her stellar career with Sierra Canyon High School and made history as the first Asian to play for the prestigious Duke Blue Devils Women's basketball program.

She's now joining Gilas with a daunting task on hand as the Pinay dribblers vie in Group B of the tournament against defending champion Japan, Chinese Taipei and host Australia.
