The WCIF, to be held on June 14 and 15, is organized by the Korea Cultural Industry Forum and sponsored by Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Daegu Metropolitan City, and Suseong District, and is held under the theme “Creator Economy and Sustainability in the Music and Entertainment Industry”.

The ASEAN-Korea session will start with a keynote presentation by Kim Hae-yong and invite Angela Tanoesoedibjo, vice minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, and Kil-hwa Jung, director of the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE)) to deliver their remarks.

Following the remarks, the ASEAN-Korea Centre will invite Nichkhun as a moderator and five popular influencers from ASEAN member states as panelists.

The panel discussants are actively engaged as entertainers, musicians, creators, and entrepreneurs in their home country, and will gather to share their experiences and discuss ways to create synergy between K-Wave and ASEAN-Wave in the era of the creator economy.

The panel discussants of the ASEAN Special Session will be Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina (Indonesia), Kring Kim (Philippines), Benjamin Kheng (Singapore), Meichan (Vietnam) and Suh Byung-kee (Korea).

Influencers WonJeon, with 50 million followers on TikTok, and Kejimin, with 10.2M followers on TikTok, who are the honorary ambassadors of WCIF, will also join the event.

"As K-culture spreads worldwide, the role of ASEAN region is growing exponentially. Through this special ASEAN-Korea session, I hope that both regions can quickly respond to changing industry trends and create more opportunities for mutual exchange and cooperation in the music and entertainment industry," said Kim Hae-yong.
