BACOLOD CITY – A tricycle driver was killed after he was sideswiped by a motorcycle loaded with lumber and wooden planks in Barangay Bagonawa, San Enrique, Negros Occidental on Sunday, June 11.

Police Major Bonifacio Aral Jr., San Enrique police chief, said that a motorcycle reportedly overtook Espinosa who was supposed to send his female passenger. However, the motorcycle rider lost control, causing him to sideswipe Espinosa’s tricycle. Espinosa was hit by a lumber in the head that caused his death, according to Aral. Aral said the motorcycle rider, who was later identified as Archie Guanzon of Escalante City, fled. But he surrendered to the police later that night. Aral said the victim’s family has yet to decide if they will file a case.
