CAVITE – Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin was the guest of honor at the 125th Independence Day celebration at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite, on Monday, June 12.

Also present during the event were Mayor Angelo G. Aguinaldo, Cavite 1st District Rep. Representative Jolo Revilla, and Cavite 7th District Provincial Board Member Crispin Diego “Ping” D. Remulla.

After the formal flag-raising ceremony, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo, opened a new exhibition.

Titled "Minting the Revolution, Forging A Nation: Highlights from the BSP Numismatic Collection," the exhibit features select BSP numismatic collection and the new BSP commemorative coin set for the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence.

The local government unit of Kawit, on the other hand, conducted a job fair, a trade fair, and a medical mission.

“Sinikap nating gawing makabuluhan ang pagdiriwang natin ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa ating Kawit at sana ay nakatulong tayo sa ating mga #KapwaKawiteño! (We aimed to make the Independence Day celebration in Kawit meaningful and I hope we were able to help our fellow Kawiteños),” Mayor Aguinaldo said in a Facebook post.
