Civil Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles underscored the need to adapt to the new realities of the present to usher in the future aspirations of the country.
He made the statement in his video message addressed to the 1.8 million civil servants as CSC joined the nation in celebrating the 125th Philippine Independence Day with the theme "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan" on Monday, June 12.
Nograles said that this year’s theme emphasizes not only the importance of appreciating the country’s struggle for freedom and independence but also stresses the importance of adapting to the ever-changing work environment.
“We must be agile in the face of changes in the workplace, dynamic in our policies to address client demands, and flexible to ensure continuity in the delivery of public services amid any disruption. Ito ay mga kongkretong paraan upang maipakita natin ang pagpapahalaga sa kabayanihan ng mga nakipaglaban para sa ating tinatamasang kasarinlan,” he said.
“Malaking bagay ang pagtugon sa hamon ng (It's a big thing to respond to challenges brought by) digital transformation. As civil servants, the challenge now is to embrace change and adjust to new realities as we strive to build back and live a better normal," he added.
He then reiterated the CSC's commitment and support to the professional development of the 1.8 million government workforce serving nationwide.
“I will champion learning and development programs designed to reinforce digital literacy skills. Ito ay para walang mapag-iwanan sa patuloy na pagsulong ng teknolohiya, at angkop na magamit ito sa paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko,” he pledged.
