Ardina, Pagdanganan finish in Top 55 of ShopRite LPGA Classic

Dottie Ardina limped home with a closing 3-over-par 74 to finish tied at 49th in the ShopRite LPGA Classic in Galloway, New Jersey Sunday, June 11.

Ardina fumbled with a bogey on the first hole and a bogey 7 on the second, before picking herself up with back-to-back birdies on Nos. 4 and 5. She kept her composure before tumbling with another bogey on the 15th to finish with a three-day total of 2-under 211. She had earlier rounds of 67 and 70. Ardina finished 12 strokes behind eventual champion Ashleigh Buhai, who slowly made her way on top with another blistering 65 for 199. Buhai started her campaign with a 69 for 25th place before propelling for solo third with a 65 after two rounds. She was trailing second-round leader Dani Holmqvist by four shots at the start of the final round and then went on to cop the crown and the $262,500 top purse. Meanwhile, Bianca Pagdanganan shot a 71 to finish tied at 54th with a 212 aggregate. She had earlier rounds of 70 and 71. Ardina and Pagdanganan also went home with $6,034 (around P330,000 and $4,878 (around P270,000) consolation prizes.
