CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police seized more than P13,000 worth of illegally cut lumber in Mainit, Surigao del Norte in line with its continuous anti-illegal logging campaign on Friday, June 9.
Acting on a report of an illegal logging activity, the Mainit Municipal Police Station intercepted a total of 47 pieces of illegally sawn anangilan lumber with an estimated volume of 367 board feet in Barangay San Isidro.
Police are conducting hot pursuit operation against the alleged owner of the confiscated forest products who managed to evade arrest during the operation.
“As part of our PNP values 'makakalikasan,' PRO-13 stays firm to its commitment to preserve and protect the environment against those who will try to violate and exploit our natural resources,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said.
