ILOILO CITY – Gov. Rhodora “Dodod” Cadiao of Antique province has posted bail after a warrant of arrest was issued as she was indicted by the Sandiganbayan for allegedly violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
CADIAO (Tara Yap) Cadiao confirmed in an online post that she posted bail last June 9 in Kidapawan City, Cotabato and clarified she was not imprisoned. Associate Justice Maria Theresa Dolores Gomez-Estoesta of the Sandiganbayan Seventh Division issued the warrant dated June 6, 2023. “Mga kasimanwa ko normal lang dya nga proseso kang atun gobyerno kun may reklamo, kag akun dya gin atubang kag wara ginpalagyuhan (My fellow Antiqueños, this is a normal procedure when complaints are filed. I’m going to face this. I’m not running away from this,” said Cadiao in her official Facebook page. The case stemmed from the complaint of Antonio dela Vega, who was chief of the Antique Provincial General Services Office. The initial complaint was handled by the Office of the Ombudsman. Cadiao is accused of allegedly refusing to allow the payment of P1.6 million to Dela Vega as part of the representation and transportation Allowances (RATA) and other benefits from 2016 to 2018. Dela Vega also questioned the order of Cadiao to transfer him from the Provincial Capitol in the capital of San Jose de Buenavista to a satellite in Culasi town. Cadiao has often referred to Dela Vega as an employee who is considered as AWOL (Absent without Official Leave).
