26 families evacuate in Valenzuela due to monsoon rains
Some 26 families from different barangays in Valenzuela City took temporary shelter in evacuation centers for their safety from rain showers brought by southwest monsoon or “habagat” on Sunday, June 11.
The city government said that as of 8 a.m. on Sunday, 19 families or 71 individuals evacuated to Bartolome Covered Court in Barangay Veinte Reales; four families or 19 individuals in Arkong Bato; and three families or 10 persons took shelter in Luis Francisco Elementary School also in Barangay Veinte Reales.

It said that hot meals and relief packs were also provided to the evacuees.
There are “Libreng Sakay” trucks to ferry stranded passengers along Lingunan Road and G. Lazaro, Dalandanan.
The city government also announced that Covid-19 vaccinations in Valenzuela People’s Park on Sunday will now be held at the ValenzuelaCity Social Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All pumping stations in the city were in full operation to prevent flooding, it added.
As of 5 a.m. on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical, Services, Administration (PAG-ASA) said rains caused by southwest monsoon which was enhanced by “Chedeng” may occur in different areas in the Luzon and Visayas in the next three days.
