UP Manila graduate tops licensure exam for nurses


Cristin Bagang Pangan, a University of the Philippines (UP) Manila graduate, led the 10,764 passers out of 14,364 examinees of the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE).

With an average rating of 91.60 percent, Pangan topped the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) list of NLE passers released on Saturday, June 10.

The examination, which took place last May, was facilitated by the Board of Nursing, headed by its chairman Elsie A. Tee and the other members: Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Elizabeth C. Lagrito, Zenaida C. Gagno, Marylou B. Ong, Merle L. Salvani and Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz.

PRC conducted the test in the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.

Passers may register for their Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration (COR)  on July 31, Aug. 1-4, Aug. 7-11, Aug. 14-18, Aug. 22-25, and Aug. 29-31 online.

Passers can view the instructions for registration at www.prc.gov.ph.

The requirements for registration include a downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; Notice of admission (for identification only); two pieces of passport-sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag); two sets of documentary stamps; and a short brown envelope.

PRC also instructed the passers to register and sign into the Roster of Registered Professionals in person. (Sonny Daanoy)
