Police net P4-M shabu in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY â€“ Police bagged suspected shabu worth more than P4 million in separate buy-bust operations this week in Dumangas, Iloilo and this city.

The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 said shabu worth P2.58 million was seized from suspected drug pusher Gerard Joseph Ruben Gelario in Dumangas. However, Gelario, a 37-year-old resident of Oton, Iloilo and considered a high-value individual, was killed by lawmen after he fired at the police poseur-buyer. Gelario was taken to the hospital where he died. Despite a fatality, PRO-6 acting regional director Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, cited the operation conducted by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), IPPO-Drug Enforcement Unit, IPPO-Intelligence Unit, and Dumangas Municipal Police Station. In Iloilo City, police seized shabu valued at P1.5 million in two operations. Danmar Duremdes, Maressa Duremdes, and Gene Catalan yielded around P1.1-million shabu to the PRO-6 Drug Enforcement Unit backed by the Iloilo City Police Office-Police Station 4 Drug Enforcement Team. Jomare Porras Pajutining was apprehended and shabu worth P408,000 was found in his possession. Suspects are facing cases for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
