Jeepney driver shot dead in Batangas

CITY OF SANTO TOMAS, Batangas – A jeepney driver was shot dead on Maharlika Highway, Barangay Santa Anastacia, this city, on Friday, June 9. Police identified the victim as Ruel Catimbang, 40, a resident of Barangay Bagbag, Tanauan City, Batangas. Investigation said a man onboard a motorcycle arrived and fired at Catimbang who was stuck in traffic on his way towards the city proper. Catimbang died on the spot due to multiple bullet wounds and the suspect fled towards the direction of Calamba City, Laguna, police said. Police are conducting a follow-up operation against the suspect.
