In a series of Twitter posts, the envoy shared about his discovery of the new Filipino restaurants.
“(Japan) is truly in (love) with (Philippine) food! Just came across a Filipino restaurant here in Roppongi named ‘New Nanay’, which means ‘new mother’! Just look at their mouthwatering menu! Doesn’t this place remind you of delicious home cooking?,” he wrote.
Based on its Facebook page, New Nanay is popular within the Filipino community as it also offers catering services for special occasion.
Some posts on Facebook also showed it being visited by showbiz royalties Vilma Santos-Recto and Christopher de Leon.
New Nanay serves traditional and hearty Filipino dishes, such as pork sisig, sinigang, and lechon kawali to name a few.
Kazuhiko also posted about another restaurant in Tokyo.
“When in Roppongi, kain kayo at KAPETAYO TOKYO! Enjoyed delicious (Philippine)-style coffee and delicacies right in the beating heart of (Japan)! Maraming salamat po (Thank you very much) to @fumfumfum3 and his wonderful team for the warm hospitality!,” the envoy wrote.
