CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police reported on Friday, June 9, the surrender of three New People’s Army rebels in Barangay Anoling, General Nakar, Quezon.
The 405th A Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4-A identified the surrenderers as “Jessica,” “Dolphy,” and “Nestor,” members of the Platun 2, Yunit Gerilyang Masa-Komiteng Larangang Gerilya Narciso, Sub-Regional Military Area 4-A of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee of the Communist Party of the Philippine-NPA.
The rebel returnees, who were under the Periodic Status Report of the CPP-NPA-National Democratic Front watchlist in the first quarter of 2021, were recruited by Wally Agudez, alias “Estong,” and alias “Shaho” in August 2017 in Sitio Lagmak, Barangay Pagsangahan, General Nakar.
They completed NPA courses and became Ganap na Kasapi (GK) or full-pledged members during the NPA anniversary on Dec. 26, 2017 in Sitio Madaraki, Barangay Umiray, General Nakar.
These surrenderers served as cook, messengers, couriers, and guides from 2017 to 2022.
Jessica surrendered her caliber .45 pistol and a magazine with eight bullets.
Police extended initial support such as food packs and P3,000 cash assistance for the medicines of Jessica’s son.
